1 day Trek in the Clarence
Let's ride!! Would you like to join us on an incredible trek in and around the Clarence River? Ride includes, 4 hrs in the saddle and perhaps a bareback swim in the river if the conditions are right, picnic lunch sitting atop the escarpment or another naturally beautiful location with far reaching views & around with the option to extend your stay and camp on site or stay in luxe accomodations next door.
The focus is on small intimate groups to keep the horses fresh & enjoying themselves as well as provide quality care & attention to you.
Bring swimmers for a dip in the River or cool mountain stream. Allow for a full day. This ride and tour will show you parts of this beautiful Shire that you may not have seen otherwise.

Must be comfortable at all paces.
Riding Experience:
Intermediate & Experienced riders.
We would consider novice riders, however will need to
discuss with you the type of terrain that we will be
covering and the pace that we will be travelling at.

Spring begins in September in Australia.
Whilst the days should be quite warm it could still get cold at night, maybe including some frost.
Pack light long sleeved shirts for the daytime, with hat, sunblock & good quality moisturiser.
Remember your swimmers for swimming with the horses in the river!!
Warmies and thermals for nighttime around the fire, beanies and Ugg boots is a must.

There is a truly special Byron experience where you can be in the open, natural environment, take in some of the special highlights of the area while connecting to the wild in yourself and nature. The Ranch Byron Bay gives people experiences on horseback that allow them to embrace the Australian wilderness, let go of their busy lives and feel free.
The horses are strong, gentle, reliable, well trained and ‘raised on so much love and gentleness. They know no fear, only love.’ The tack is high-quality western and stock saddles with luxurious woven saddle blankets.
The vast open space of the beach is accessible and you can share the wind with sea eagles, watch whales and dolphins from the saddle, enjoy views of the lighthouse, and take in the waves. There are one- or two-hour Beach Rides, which are suitable for all levels of riders, and The Ranch Byron Bay ensures that there are plenty of chances to trot and canter if riders wish.
Shanti McIvor from The Ranch Byron Bay explains that ‘We are the only approved horse-riding company in the Shire to take people on horseback tours to Minyon Falls, which is an incredible day for people and includes a gourmet picnic’. The Wilderness Treks allow people to explore beautiful, less-visited parts of the area that not many get to see. Being deep in a rainforest is one of the most rejuvenating experiences one can have; add in a strong and gentle ride, wonderful views, cool streams, and lunch sitting atop an escarpment and you have an unforgettable adventure.
There are other horse-riding packages on offer from The Ranch Byron Bay; for example, their three-day Mountain Lodge experience, which is fully catered and includes rides through farmland and wilderness. Guests stay in a sandstone-and-timber bunkhouse that has a pool, spa, and visiting masseuse. Meals are shared and can be accompanied by a well-earned glass of wine at the end of the day as well as a campfire under the stars before bunking down.
